  • How?

Just tell me how that can have been Christmas when I didn't see a 'James Bond' movie on the tele on christmas day or boxing day either.
Not only that, No Star Wars film, no Indianna Jones, No Alien and most damning of all:

No 'BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER KWAI'

    Call that a Christmas? PAH!

    Festive as ever, Dennypoos.

  • ASDA........chancers or what?

Things must be pretty bleak at chez Wall-Mart if they have to resort to subterfuge to make a profit.

    profit

I wonder if anyone fell for it.

Dennypoos........... on the side of the consumer.

  • Its the season of goodwill, but fuck 'em.

For some there may be a moral dilema in sending some one the wrong way when asked for directions, but not for this puppy.

I'm about my business, on the way to the library as it happens, when some oiks in a Beemer schreech to a halt besides me.

"Where'sa fucking ferries?" the gent politely enquired.

I directed them in the direction of the docks but in such a way that they drove alongside and indeed past the ferry terminal with no hope of gettig there, the only turn off that particular bit of dual carriageway being almost in the New Forrest.

I do so hope they wer'nt late.

Should I have been a more tolerant bunny?

Dennypoos, a moral dilemma at every corner.

  • Blame sixpence.

    as per the title.

border="0" alt="You are .tmp Your existence is fleeting. Here today, gone tomorrow. Sometimes you stay longer than necessary, and take up space."/>
    Which File Extension are You?

Oh yet more woe for my Christmas depression to cope with.

  • The book of Dave.

I've finally finished Will Self's latest offering and I must stick with my first thought insomuch as, it's a very clever book.

I can't help but think though, that, to use a bit of jargon, that it's a missed opportunity..
All the big issues, are up for grabs here and the author gives them all a body swerve.

The final two word analysis, would be, 'Empty and Vacuous'

    Dennypoos, damning to the last.

  • One of my flickr groups....

....are having a little problem figuring out where this is.

See I'm a member of a group inventively named, 'guess where in southampton'. The idea being that you upload a photo, taken in Southampton, and the others have to give a location and info.

It seems they are stuffed with this one.

    abstract one

and in case devious minds are at work, the photos have to be of things or places that are accessable to all, so photos of ones bathroom, or whatever, are not accepted.

Dennypoos, an enigma wrapped in a paradox, behind a......

  • anoyher wosname.

Thas time a reincarnation thingy.....you know what I mean.

    http://www.reincarnationstation.com/

..and for those who wish to be in the know, I was schedualed to come back as a cat.

Thanks? go to safaricandle for this divertment.

    Dennypoos, full of crap.

  • NCIS.

While I'm educating you cultured and sophisticated readers, I may as well give you this little snippet which may come in handy when interrogating spouses as to their previous wherabouts.

It seems that when questioning some-one, if the person looks to their right and upwards they are trying to remember, if to their right they are going to tell porkies.

  • Well, I'll be buggered...

    ...I'd never have known that.

To what am I refering my little blogging buddies?

I refer to the fact that Wellington, that great defeater of Napoleon and whom we know as 'The Iron Duke', got this moniker in a way I for one didn't dream of.

    wellingtoninhisboot

He is not the 'Iron Duke' in the same way as Mrs Thatcher was the 'Iron Lady', oh no.

He was given this title as a term of derision, the situation being as follows:

Wellington, after his vanquishing of 'Old boney', went on to become Prime minister and a bloody hopeless one at that. Pissed off with the populace venting its wrath by lobbing stones through his windows, he took steps by cladding all his windows with an Iron grille.

    'oood av fort it eh?

I was about to end your lesson for today but one other interesting fact emerges from this anecdote, insomuch as, he wasn't in Downing street at the time but resided at 'Apsley House'. The thing about 'Apsley House' is that when, for the sake of the postal service, houses started to be numbered, 'Apsley House' was given the address......1, London.

    Dennypoos, as educational as hell.

  • Panorama perchance.

Just a little posting to see ifin I've got the hang of the panorama feature in my photo-editor wosname. There are two versions: one just goes either way round by clicking to one side or the other and the second one gives 360 rotational functions and the ability to zoom anywhere in the image.

    Here goes.

Ah! I see only one downloads as the other isn'yt a recognised file type. If yougot this far I needn't tell you that this is the famous cemetery that I've lavished so much time in.

Dennypoos, as I learn, so shall you.

  • The book of Dave.

'The book of Dave' is the latest offering from Will Self, having got some 178 pages into it I can say that it is a 'clever' book. In saying that,I hope that I have managed to convey a description and an opinion in my usual, erudite but damning, way.

I would say that it is clever in the same way that the music of Emerson Lake and Palmer was clever in the 70's. Technically, a tour de force, interesting concepts and ideas and all that with some bits that appeal to my juvenile smararsedness, ultimately vacuous.

  • More photoshop cartoons.

    ....as per title.

    cartoon4cartoon5cartoon6

Have a good weekend, shop for England and that'l make up for me.

  • Festive PC.

It seems that road rage is, at this time of celebration, to be re-named with the acronym FAT. This I heard on the radio early this-morn stands for: Festive Anger something and as you've guessed I can't remember what the 'T' is. Tirade perhaps, who knows.

Anyroad-up, the thing is my alter ego, Dr Denny, would like to give you this vomit inducing homily:

'Its better to be a little patient on the road than a little patient in hospital.'

Get your own cloths to wipe the desk down, you were warned.

  • Photoshop cartoons.

As I have my head up my arse with regard to learning how to tart up my photographs, I thought that I'd liven all my fans' days with these cartoons from 'Elements4 for dummies'

    cartoon1cartoon2caroon3

Well sod ya! I like 'em.

  • Birthday snap.

    Whaddy'a mean I look a little rough?

    self p birthday edition blog

  • Yeah, thats right.

    This weekends thought is this:

It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government still gets in.

    Dennypoos, what can I say.

  • Orchid

The damned thing looks like it'l be fully open on my birthday, viz, tomorrow.

    Whoo-Hoo!almost there.

  • F'carsing about, the results.

As per previos blog about photoshop, I can come clean and say that some small amount of time has been spent f'carsing about and as such I can show you what I learnt yesterday.

Original photo, done for 'Geograph' has lamposts, telephone wires and a bloody red car in the photo, all of which are a little intrusive.

    Beforeafter

    God but I'm good!

    Dennypoos, modest in the extreme.
