..
We are day by day finding that computer security, internet security and the security of this benighted isle are being compromised. This can quite often take the form of some smug fuckwit not realising that when he leaves his laptop on the train not everyone is likely to hand it in to lost property, as the 'Red tops' love to tell us.
There may be some who think that "smug fuckwit" is perhaps going a little too far and they may be right. What description should I use, I wonder for the Ministry of Defence who have provided us all with what has to be the supreme example of institutionalised smug fuckwitedness:
In a recent report by Sir Edmund Burton it came to light that six hundred and fifty laptops and twenty memory sticks had been stolen from the MoD in the last few years. Thats SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY.
When asked to comment, the MoD stated that its policies and proceedures were "fit for purpose".
So thats alright then.
We can also sleep easier in our beds knowing that the law enforcement agencies made 519,260 requests to monitor the publics' phone calls AND Emails, (thats yours and mine perhaps), last year according to Sir Paul Kennedy, (communications minister).
I must just pose the age old question:
Dennypoos.........................................will no one rid me of that troublesome bee from inside my bonnet?
