How many of us, I wonder, have been walking along the pavement only to have to take avoiding action because some negligent bastard has allowed a bush/shrub/tree to grow over his property boundary and block half the bloody path.
I came across such an example only a few days ago and resolved to re-visit the scene armed with my trusty secateurs. This I duly did and having performed sufficient surgery on the offending bush removed the detritus back to 'Dennypoos Acres', thus clearing the pavement for perambulating persons. You could have knocked me down wiv a fe'ver as the bush turned out to be 'Laurus Nobilis', ie a Bay Tree. Wot with me being a bit of a cook this was manna from Heaven. The only thing to do of course was to dry the branches and make use of the leaves in stews gravies etc. As can be seen from the picture below I hung them upside down from the (low energy) bulb in the hallway and they are almost dry enough to use.
Funny thing is, only a few weeks ago I performed a similar task, tidying a scruffy-overgrown hedge only to find that it was a series of Rosemary bushes. Just how bizarre is that?
Dennypoos...........Scruffy bushes trimmed, competitive rates etc.
