They're funding a glass extension to the law courts, (which are empty) to make a 'Titanic' museum. Knowing our lot it'll still be on the drawing board when hell freezes over. They've had 90ys to get a museum up and running and chose to flog a couple of bits of art when there's a credit crunch on. That's how bright they are.

Pro I see, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. If the money was for something that was much needed it might be different but i would have thought it better to keep the artwork and wait until things improve before doing the museum, but what do I know? Keep on keeping on at them though x
Having grown up in Southampton, I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments on what the Council are planning. A Titanic Museum? A Titanic cock-up.

Ah, a Sotonian, so you'll know why I'm so fucking annoyed.
Hopefully it'll go the same way as the five fingered laser display, blasting light polution into the sky from the clock tower and the seriously 'micky mouse' Spitfire monument which has been around since I've been in town, ie 16yrs.
